Turtle Tour

Our turtle tours can be done at any time of the day and we recommend it to be done in the early hours of the morning. It offers a safer environment for Turtles as the sea is calmer and cleaner and the sea traffic is not heavy. Therefore, we are more likely to see and swim with caretta caretta turtles.

Our Side turtle tour takes  minimum 2 hours. According to your request, this tour can be made as a longer tour with meals included or a longer boat tour without meals.

Our tour starts by welcoming you at the ancient port of Side and after a short briefing, heading east towards the Manavgat river. We start our pleasant tour by feeling the peaceful silence and sweet coolness of the Mediterranean. After traveling for 20-25 minutes, we arrive at our stop, which is approximately 100-150 meters off the coast and after that we anchor. This stopover is the natural habitat of the Caretta carettas. Here sea turtles come to the surface for air and swim close to the surface. The one-hour break we take here is also a swimming break. You can have a unique experience by diving with snorkels or swimming with turtles and have a pleasant time with them. If you dive with snorkel, you can observe other creatures and the bottom of the sea. If you do not have a personal snorkel with you, you can use the snorkels on our boat. After swimming, you can take a shower using the fresh water shower on our boat and get rid of the sea salt on your body. Our guests who do not want to swim can also sunbathe on the Deck during the swimming break and during our journey. You can bring sunscreen, hat, towel and spare dry clothes with you. If your children are going to swim in the sea, they can use the swimming sleeves and life buoys on our boat. In order to immortalize these pleasant moments, we recommend  you to take the equipments such as  camera and cell phone with you. You can share these photos and videos on your social media accounts using the free wireless internet connection on our boat. After our break, we start our return journey towards the port of Side, where the Temple of Apollo, a work of the Ancient Roman period, is located. Our return journey takes 20-25 minutes like our outbound journey. We also play you music on the boat to make your tour more enjoyable and fun. If you wish, you can have fun by looking around or dancing on the deck of the boat. During our tour, you can have your alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from the wide range of beverages on our boat in a cool way from our cooler or you can also take hot drinks such as tea and coffee.

According to your request, this turtle boat tour can be planned for a longer period, or a meal can be included. You can create a menu with alternatives such as grilled fish, meatballs and chicken with salad and rice on our boat. It is possible to see many large and small sea turtles in our region, which is the habitat and spawning area of sea turtles (caretta caretta). The area we are in is the spawning area of sea turtles. They start spawning from may and this  continues until the end of July. There are many beaches where turtles can lay their eggs in Side. Turtles lay eggs oncein every 2-3 years. Caretta Caretta turtles instinctively return to the same beach where they were born and lay between 80 and 100 eggs. At the end of 60 days after laying their eggs, they hatch and after a day of rest in the sand, they start to climb to the surface and reach the sea by following the light of the horizon at dusk. Sea turtles must have no other light source around the spawning area, otherwise the turtle cubs will go towards this light source instead of the Sea. Carettas reach 115-150 centimeters in length. Their weight can be 150 kilograms.The turtles shell is earth colour and its abdomen is orange. Turtles, which usually eat algae, live in colonies and their average lifespan is 70 years. You can also swim with the carettas by diving with snorkeling in these areas. If your holiday coincides with the hatching time of the baby turtles, you can watch them coming  out of the sand and reaching the sea.
